Simplifying work flow

Situation

AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group (ABSG), a division of the largest distributor of pharmaceutical services, came to MarketNet for help with their e-commerce site, which was not performing to industry standards. Less than 5% of the overall revenue was generated from the current web-based system.

Solution

MarketNet analyzed the existing site, the competition and the purchasing habits of the customer base. In partnership with the ABSG internal IT department, MarketNet created a new Internet-based purchasing system customized for each of the three ABSG distribution businesses. Features and functionality include:

  • Robust B2B e-commerce, content and banner management system
  • Sophisticated order management systems that facilitate direct order/administrative approval, total purchase value limits and other controls, multiple pricing levels, and split orders (i.e. processes authorized items/holds others for approval)
  • Separate telesales support system built on the same database and code architecture as the above, to greatly enhance ordering and management control
Results

ABSG is now generating over 30% of their total revenue through their e-commerce sites. MarketNet continues to provide ongoing support and enhancements. MarketNet has also extended services to provide web site design and development to seven other ABSG divisions.
