This method uses the introduction of triploid grass
carp in smaller numbers over a multiple-year
period. With TPWD approval, the staggered
stocking method has since been used at three
TXU reservoirs (Martin Creek, North Lake and
Tradinghouse) as well as other reservoirs in the
state. The hydrilla infestation in each of the
TXU reservoirs has now either

receded to acceptable levels for the optimal
operation of the generating plants.

West Texas has been experiencing serious
drought conditions for several years. TXU’s
Permian Basin power plant has assisted the City
