hard work and planning, we also managed to meet new 2003 state-mandated NOx rate reductions six months before the deadline.

One of the ways we have reduced NOx rates has been through the multi-year planning and construction of a Selective Catalytic Reduction system to reduce NOx emissions at our Lake Ray Hubbard plant in Dallas. As a result of this 2002 addition, NOx rates at this one power plant unit will decrease by more than 90 percent. While these systems are

extremely expensive to build, the company is in a planning process to determine whether additional systems need to be part of our NOx compliance program in the Metroplex.
