PUBLIC REPORTING
TXU first began publishing an environmental report for our stakeholders in 1991 and has continued this effort on an annual basis since that time. We were one of the first large companies to share our environmental activities with the public. We believe in letting our stakeholders know how we are performing on environmental matters and endeavor to improve our reporting process to provide information of interest.

We place environmental information on our Internet Web site at www.txucorp.com and welcome inquiries on our activities, accomplishments and performance.

SPECIFIC REPORTING
A number of TXU regulatory reports are available publicly. They include:

  Toxic Release Inventory
In 1986, Congress passed the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) to help make the public aware of chemicals used
or released at certain industrial facilities. Several TXU facilities were included in this reporting program, with reports submitted in 1999 for the first time. 2002 represents the fourth year that TXU has submitted this informational report and inventory of toxic releases to the EPA. To review our submission, please visit TXU on the Internet at www.txucorp.com.

  Continuous Emission Monitoring
Power plant emission data are reported on a real-time basis to the EPA. The information is available publicly on the Internet at www.epa.gov.

  Reporting Air Emissions to Customers
TXU reports on emissions to customers twice yearly through customer bill inserts. Specifically, the reports provide changing information on how much nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide are produced per kilowatt-hour generated compared to the Texas average.
